About Sucker

SUCKER is Candi Vee (bass and lead vocals), Janson Harris (guitars), and TimmyPrime (drums), a three piece female fronted original rock and roll band based out of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Sucker finished its second EP in the summer of 2012, described by the group’s local music magazine as “one of the most dangerously rocking local spins in recent memory” and officially released its first full length album on March 15, 2013.

Sucker’s sound is best described as a modern take on 70s and 80s hard rock and pop rock: “the perfect bridge between old-school, safety-pin-through-the-cheek punk attitude and ballsy heavy metal assault”. The music features speedy drum beats, riffy guitar and bass lines and infectious pop melody. The band is all about a good time and this is echoed in much of the music they make. “I love a party atmosphere. I like to make music I would want to hear on a night out. Rock and roll is a lifestyle. It’s very hedonistic and I like to reflect that in my music,” says Candi Vee when asked to describe her music and motivation.

Sucker was formed by Candi Vee in 2009 and has experienced several member changes before settling into the current lineup. The first EP was released in June of 2010, recorded by a milder version of Sucker, right before their first shift in members. Of the musicians that helped Sucker through its first year of shows, Janson Harris stayed on as a permanent member and contributor to the composition of Sucker’s music. Soon after, Vee and Harris recruited TimmyPrime on drums. Sucker is currently playing shows to promote the album release and will be shooting a music video this spring.
